Conference line-up showcases Brisbane's expertise


Brisbane is off to a flying start in 2017, having already hosted a number of leading national and international business events such as the Association Forum’s 12th Annual CEO & Chair Symposium, ARVO Asia (Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology) 2017, the World Congress of Clinical Lipidology, and the 41st National Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses Conferences.

While major incentive events Dreamtime 2017 and the Herbalife Future Presidents Team Retreat are set to headline in the second half of 2017, the coming months will see another bumper line-up of high-calibre conferences and meetings held in Brisbane. They will attract to the city some of the world’s greatest minds and top talent across a range of sectors.

The VR Hackathon is a community driven event focused on bringing together the brightest minds interested in virtual reality and related technologies to develop innovative hardware and software solutions, have fun, and build out the future of immersive technology.

Australasian Sonographers Association Conference
2-4 June, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre

Now in its 24th year, ASA2017 will bring together both national and international experts in the field of sonography. The conference will deliver an advanced education program, high-end clinical practice and networking opportunities. 

2nd Annual Living Labs Symposium
5 June, QUT Gardens Point Campus

The Living Labs Symposium will focus on smart cities, health and ageing and social innovation. Guest speakers include Professor Lars Coenen and Associate Professor Michael Dezuanni. The symposium will offer opportunities for practical, hands-on workshops.

Community Care Business Transformation and Innovation Conference
6 June, QUT Gardens Point Campus

The conference will bring together both local and international innovation, change and technology experts from a variety of fields including government policy, community care, business and assistive technologies. This conference is designed to expand the sector's thinking regarding the way that technology, disruption and innovation can uniquely benefit outcomes for the future. Joint meeting of the Australian & New Zealand Bone & Mineral Society & the International Federation of Musculoskeletal Research Societies
17-21 June, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre

Held in conjunction with the Japanese Society for Bone and Mineral Research, this inaugural meeting will highlight the shared mission of all three societies – to raise global awareness of the importance of musculoskeletal research, foster integration of clinical and basic science, and facilitate the translation of science to health care and clinical practice.
