Team-building activities and experiences in Brisbane
Step out of the boardroom and liven up the next work event with programs, workshops and events that bring teams together, develop skills and uncover strengths – and weaknesses.
From throwing paint at a wall to solving the latest murder mysteries, Brisbane has corporate team-building experiences to strength your bonds and encourage collaboration and cooperation.

Conquer a fear of heights while abseiling down or scaling up the raw cliff face of Kangaroo Point. For those who like their action a little less risky, there is no better place to view the city skyline than from the comfort of a kayak. Try stand-up paddle boarding (gondola-style!), pair up and swap kayaks (it’s much more difficult than it sounds) or try your hand at kayak soccer or basketball. Quite possibly the ultimate in character building, a group activity at Riverlife will surely get the adrenaline pumping.
Be it for team-building activities or to give guests a chance to work on their serve, anyone who steps on to the court is likely to channel their inner Federer or Nadal – two legends who have played on its surface. The location along a leafier section of the Brisbane River in Tennyson is like a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of the inner city and is still only 15 minutes away.

While it isn’t specifically team building, the Story Bridge Adventure Climb is certainly character building. The adrenaline junkies will love it and those who do not enjoy heights will learn a lot about themselves, encouraged on by teammates. As one of only three bridge climbs of its kind in the world, the trek allows for the nervous climbers to conquer their fears and for a group to come together and inspire each other to succeed. Oh, and the view is pretty spectacular too.
Coffee class
Many people, when asked, would say their blood type is coffee. Merlo Coffee run coffee making classes, a hands-on team-building activity that requires a group to work together to create that perfect cup of coffee, from roast to pour. Put your taste buds to the test while comparing different blends, or learn how to create perfect latte art.
Cooking schools

Add some zest to the next team outing by taking part in a cooking school. There’s plenty around Brisbane to choose from and the best part is relaxing with wine in hand and enjoying the fruits of your labour at the end. Closer to the CBD, master the souffle at The Golden Pig or get hands-on at James St Cooking School. A little further afield, the Scenic Rim has cooking schools that highlight the region’s local produce – with a side of locally-made beverages of course.
Cocktail classes
They say the choice of drink says a lot about a man – or a woman – and a cocktail class is a great way to get it all out in the open, but also a really good time. Learn to shake it til you make it at some of Brisbane's favourite venues such as Canvas and Cowch South Bank.
Escape Rooms
Fancy yourself a bit of a Harry Houdini? Puzzled Room Escape’s rooms are designed to make you figure out how to get out of a tense situation. Step into the shoes – and the mind – of your favourite fictional detective as you try to escape from Escape Hunt’s room in just 60 minutes.
