Brisbane Marketing’s executive team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organisation.

Brett Fraser, Chief Executive Officer

Brett Fraser is Brisbane Marketing’s Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for delivering the city’s long term economic blueprint.

Brett has extensive global experience in economic development, corporate and government relations, and project management and his role is critical to continuing to drive Brisbane’s growing global reputation and delivering the Brisbane 2022 New World City Action Plan.

Brett’s executive positions include Director at Brisbane Marketing, Investment Director (North America) at Invest Australia, General Manager at Australia TradeCoast and various senior executive positions at Vale, one of the world’s largest global resources companies, including Head of Corporate Affairs, Human Resources and Sustainability.

Rob Nelson, Chief Operating Officer

Rob joined Brisbane Marketing in January 2015 as General Manager of the Brisbane Convention Bureau, with a focus on enhancing Brisbane’s growing reputation as a destination for convention and business events. Rob recently spent 4-months as Acting GM Marketing & Communications before being appointed as Acting COO in July. Prior to joining the Brisbane Marketing, Rob enjoyed an extensive career in major events, sports business and general management consultancy working in senior executive roles including Glenelg and Port Adelaide Football Clubs, Surf Lifesaving Australia, Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games and Events SA (SA Tourism). Rob is committed to working with our business units to drive performance, mobilise our current business plan and guide future strategy and to deliver economic growth for Brisbane.

Jon Kritzinger, Chief Financial Officer

Jon Kritzinger is a Chartered Accountant with more than 16 years' experience in management accounting and financial management. He has a strong background working in medium-sized companies, with particular expertise in the manufacturing and retail construction sectors. He has held a number of directorships on various divisional boards and is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia. He is responsible for financial management, information technology, risk management, corporate administration and insurance.

Alex Blauensteiner, General Manager, Business, Innovation and Skills

As General Manager, Business, Innovation and Skills, Alex leads Brisbane Marketing’s activities to transition the city to a more knowledge-based economy.  Alex has been involved with taking technology-enabled products to the global market for almost 20 years. Prior to joining Brisbane Marketing, he led the European operations for a global innovation platform. He has worked in Australia, Silicon Valley, Europe and Asia with startups (including his own), scaleups, some of the largest multinational companies, universities and government.  He worked with one of Australia’s first ecommerce companies in the late  90s and led its early entry into the US market.  Alex was previously a Director at the Australian Institute for Commercialisation.

Anne-Maree Moon, General Manager, Tourism and Major Events

Anne-Maree Moon is one of Queensland's most experienced events marketing executives. Ms Moon has spent the past 18 years in arts and entertainment marketing in Brisbane, most recently as Associate Director ACMN Marketing and Advertising where she developed and implemented national marketing strategies for a variety of high-profile events and performances. Previously, Ms Moon was Director of Marketing and Ticketing, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), where her achievements included developing a nationally recognised audience development program.

Cat Matson, Brisbane's Chief Digital Officer

Cat Matson is the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) for the City of Brisbane and is charged with the digital transformation of the city as a means of accelerating economic growth and empowering residents and businesses to thrive in a globally-connected, digitally-enabled world. An experienced digital and startup strategist and respected business leader, Cat takes an “all-of-Brisbane” approach to making it easier to work, grow, learn, contribute to and ultimately live in Brisbane. The CDO delivers programs to improve digital uptake for small and medium businesses, educates children on coding, supports the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem, connects startups with global markets, and ensures Brisbane residents are equipped to participate in the global digital economy.

Juliet Alabaster, General Manager, Brisbane Convention Bureau

In her capacity as Acting General Manager, Juliet Alabaster is responsible for overseeing activity within the Convention Bureau. Juliet has a strong tourism background having grown up in the industry, and her professional experience includes working for a Professional Conference Organiser and a business event venue. Juliet joined the Convention Bureau in 2008 and since that time has been head of three areas of the team, giving her a vast working knowledge of the Bureau and the business events industry.

Matt Granfield, General Manager, Marketing and Communications

Matt brings a wealth of tourism and business experience to Brisbane Marketing, previously heading the marketing and digital divisions for one of Australia’s largest hotel groups and a leading Queensland bank. Prior to his corporate career, Matt spent more than a decade in leadership positions in a number of prominent advertising, PR and digital agencies, consulting for some of Australia’s biggest (and smallest) companies. Matt studied marketing at Harvard Business School, has an MBA from UQ, a communications degree, is a Certified Practising Marketer and Manager, a fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute, an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Michelle Lee, General Manager, Precinct Development

Michelle Lee brings to Brisbane Marketing a wealth of experience drawn from the corporate business, construction and property sectors, having held senior roles in business development and design management. She began her career as an architect before spending 16 years working with leading national building and infrastructure solutions providers including Baulderstone and Lend Lease. Michelle is a passionate advocate for Brisbane and is the Immediate Past President of the Brisbane Development Association. In her role as General Manager, Precinct Development, Michelle is focused on targeting strategic investments that support the vision for Brisbane’s city centre, in addition to overseeing marketing and activation programs for the city’s key central precincts.

Steve Guise, Head of Commercial & Corporate Partnerships

Steve Guise manages Brisbane Marketing’s Commercial & Partnerships team who work with Brisbane’s leading brands and organisations as part of Team Brisbane. Steve and his team focus on providing alignment opportunities for these organisations with city-owned assets, events, programs and initiatives as partners, sponsors and industry participants. Steve has extensive experience in managing commercial partnerships having worked for ten years with Canterbury International, five years with Brisbane Roar FC in the Hyundai A-League and launched his own start-up, an events management company. Steve is passionate about harnessing the power of Team Brisbane to create growth opportunities and welcomes new conversations with businesses who may be interested.

Steven Silvester, General Manager, Investment Attraction

As Director of the Investment Attraction team, Steven Silvester takes responsibility for guiding companies from within the Digital Content and IT, Mining Technology and Services, and Infrastructure sectors on their plans to establish or expand operations in the Greater Brisbane region. Specifically, Steven focuses his attention on those convergent areas where digital technologies are advancing productivity gains within the traditional industry sectors of mining, infrastructure development and energy generation. Steven has a Bachelor of Engineering in Microelectronic Engineering and a Masters in Technology Management and previously worked for one of Australia’s largest and most diverse human resources outsourcing and recruitment companies.
