A team of creative master printers took the spotlight at this year’s Lord Mayor’s Business Awards.

The Print Bar won the Australia TradeCoast Award for Outstanding Small Business and also received the prestigious Optus Business Platinum Award for best overall in every category.

“The Print Bar is run by an extraordinarily creative team of designers, artists and print specialists and has a well-deserved reputation for its print concepts, workshops, easy-to-use online printing options and screen-print art exhibitions,” Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said.

The Print Bar began in 2011 when Jared Fullinfaw started printing and selling his own t-shirts from his Brisbane home, finding a niche in producing sought-after custom designs.

Today The Print Bar is a team of 25, including master printers with many years of valuable experience, operating out of a warehouse in Windsor. The core of its business is taking its clients’ plans from ideas to print.

"It's so wonderful for our team to receive external recognition, especially from an award as prestigious as the Lord Mayor's Business Awards,” said Mr Fullinfaw.

“It brings joy and motivation to the amazing team who all have helped build this business from the garage start up to a Brisbane icon. This award will further fuel us and motivate us to be a leader on the national stage."

The Lord Mayor’s Business Awards are now in their 12th year and continue to attract record numbers of entries from a vast range of sectors and industries.

Cr Quirk congratulated all winners of the 2017 Lord Mayor’s Business Awards, who were announced at a gala dinner at Brisbane’s City Hall on Friday 27 October.

“Our award winners demonstrate the depth of talent, enterprising optimism and innovative mindset of our business community, who play a vital role in Brisbane’s success at a local and global level,” he said.

The Lord Mayor’s Business Awards are staged by Brisbane Marketing and sponsored by ANZ, Australia Pacific LNG, Australia TradeCoast, BDO, Brisbane City Council, Channel 7, Energex, Epicure, HSBC, ISPT, Optus, Port of Brisbane, Queensland Urban Utilities, Singapore Airlines, Sirromet and Staging Connections.
