Brisbane hotels win big at HM Awards 2016
11 October 2016
Brisbane’s accommodation sector continues to soar, with the industry picking up seven awards across multiple categories at this year’s 2016 Hotel Management Awards (HMA).
In the past year, new developments have changed the hotel landscape across Brisbane and the future of the city’s accommodation industry is looking just as promising.
Four Brisbane hotels were recognised more than once during the evening for their contributions in both hotel and hospitality services. Ibis Styles Brisbane accepted the top award for Australia’s best Economy Hotel, while the Sofitel Brisbane took out winner for best concierge and was also recognised for its outstanding meeting and conference facilities.
Additional award recipients of the evening included the tech-savvy NEXT Hotel, The Emporium Hotel Brisbane and AccorHotels and the Mantra Group.
From 2017, Brisbane will welcome the opening of both the Pullman and Ibis hotels at Brisbane Airport, and South Bank will see the opening of the 5-star South Point: Emporium 2.
In early 2018, the city will welcome the development of the first W Hotel on George St, with views of the Brisbane River.
The 2016 HMA recognised the accommodation industry’s finest staff, properties, brands and chains across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific in front of a record 700 attendees.
We would like to congratulate all of the winners and Brisbane Marketing members for their achievements.
