TIMELAPSE: Watch a 3D printer create a prosthetic ear

Associate Professor Mia Woodruff and her team at the Biofabrication and Tissue Morphology Group at the Queensland University of Technology are doing incredible things with 3D printing technology in the biomaterial and biofabrication fields. The above video shows a 3D printer creating a plastic prosthetic ear, though the group prints all kinds of different limbs and moulds in which limbs can be created from other materials, such as silicon. Late last year it was announced that a biofabrication institute would be located at the Herston Health Precinct, with the end game being a 3D printed human organ.
