Studying abroad in Brisbane is a milestone in my life and the Brisbane International Student Ambassador Program was a precious chance, opening many new doors for me to learn, perfect myself and network with talented people.

Three years ago I chose to come to Brisbane, Australia because of reputable institutions. Yeap! If you have for the option to choose high quality education, why not? It simply started like that.

After finishing 2 years studying in HELP University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I decided to transfer to Griffith University - which is a top 50 University in the world - to complete my Bachelor degree. The first day I came to Brisbane there was a staff member from Griffith University waiting to pick me up at the airport.

My first impression of the city was the Victoria Bridge lit up at night, very bright and very sparkling. I remember thinking “I will have a bright future here”, although I knew there would be lots of challenges and difficulties while studying abroad. However, where there is a will, there is a way!

I have a passion for accounting and the finance industry and I am determined to build a long- term career in this field. Therefore, after graduating from my Bachelor degree at Griffith University, I chose the University or Queensland, which is one of Top 8 Universities in Australia, to study a Master’s degree. The teaching quality at UQ is excellent, with prestigious professors presenting realistic and updated study contents. In addition, there are many working integrated learning courses that help students to gain real experience before graduating that can really make your resume stand out.

The University of Queensland and Griffith University usually organise employment events to create chances for students to meet employers and mentors to prepare for their future career. I never stopped finding opportunities from the first year at university to gain broad working knowledge of accounting and the finance field and to work on perfecting my communication, interpersonal and transferable skills through internships and volunteer experience in Big 4 companies, not-for-profit and government organisations. With my continuous efforts, I got a job offer at Spring Financial Group Head Office in Sydney!

Although I moved to Sydney to start my career, I still miss the beautiful times I had in Brisbane, the atmosphere of the city make me feel peaceful and cozy. Brisbane offers lots of delicious foods in West End and Sunnybank and I loved to spend my free time with friends there.

Three years ago, I chose Brisbane and then, Brisbane chose me to be one of 40 Brisbane International Student Ambassadors from 36 countries in 2017. It was more than 'good’ spending three years in Brisbane. It was amazing, and I found a way to become a better version of myself each day.
